BudaPest

Well, Budapest is a big city! I don't like it so well as Krakow or Prague, though it is OK. Last night we went on a Danube cruise which was very nice. The buildings of the city are beautiful in the evening. We had a walking tour of the Buda side yesterday afternoon when we arrived. The castle area is much more modern than the other two cities. This is our last big city that we will stay in. We are staying in the Pest side, close to the market and the waterfront. Hansa got all of us a day pass for the Metro, so we can hop around all over the city.
This is Martha and I on our bike ride in Krakow.
Today, several of us are taking the waters. It is very hot today, will be close to 100. I am now on my way to the Great Market to look for the hottest paprika I can buy to bring home. I hope to make it to the House of Terror, a museum about the Nazi & Communist methods of controlling the population, before heading to the Szechenyi Baths in the City Park.
We leave tomorrow for Croatia and the Plivice National Park which sounds wonderful with lots of vegetation and waterfalls. After a night there we head to the Adriatic Coast! That should be fun.
Oh, Egar was a wonderful town with really pretty countryside. Lots of corn, wheat and grape fields. We had a wonderful time at the winery. We met the owners and they had some Hungarian music and we sang & danced on the patio looking out over the country.
I am trying to get a photo or two up here, but it is taking a long time, so I may have to just skip that for now. I'll try again, maybe, later today, at another place.

Here's one more, dancing at the winery. Look at the pretty countryside.
Oh, Dad, try double clicking on the photos, that should enlarge them. Oh, my, I just checked the weather for Outlook! UGG! Hot days coming! Kristi, do you think the girls can put the cats in for the afternoons & let them out in the evenings? They'd really like that, I think. Later, Steph

Hello hello!
Everything is fine here. Mika is being spoiled, spoiled, spoiled! The girls will take care of the kitties. Tomorrow is when we are supposed to get beyond the 100's. Sittin' by the pool days! (While your cats snooze in the house)
The Lappin pickers are gone so the cats can get back to work in the orchard. Meeko was over visiting last night and enjoyed a meal with us! Devi fed and watered the animals at your house yesterday but I saw James was over there last night? I haven't figured out his scedule yet.
Well we are headed down to the water right now. Glad you are enjoying your trip!

Hey Steph,
I just typed about our 5th comment on your blog and then went back to review everythig. I couldn't find one of our letters we had written to you! Have you been receiving anything? I just called Dad and asked him if I'm doing something wrong. I leave a comment, type my name under "others" then click "publish". Let me know if you've received anythig?
Kristi
hey mom
it looks like your blog is getting enough traffic to get spammed, nice :P
everything's alright here. the guy that used to be in charge of loading trucks at work now fills medical oxygen full time, so I'm in charge of loading in the afternoons until the guy that started a month or so ago is able to take over. he's picking it up pretty quick now though, and they hired a couple more new guys today to help out with it too. I have a pretty easy job for the first part of the day now, just helping fill medical oxygen, so it's not so bad. the production manager is having shoulder surgery next week and word is someone (probably me) will be learning to fill gas mixtures in the lab so I can cover for him and the other guy that does mixes. who knows though, it seems like I hear something like that but different every week, heh. still looking around at other stuff...
planning on driving to the valley friday after work, so I should be able to take care of the cats and lawn etc. this weekend. anyway, take care and enjoy your travels, keep us updated...
I haven't been able to open this blog for 2 days, opened first time tonight. John finished Sweethearts yesterday, will pick some more Labins for freezer tomorrow, then done. Hot! Maybe 107 by Sunday. Went to the cabin today and rode up to 5000 ft., just in a short sleeve shirt all the way. Really neat up there. was 86 at the cabin when I left tonight but supposed to get hot tomorrow.
Everything all right here. James been in your house all week but will be gone again this week-end.
Your trip descriptions are great as are the pictures. Becca and Dianna call nearly everyday, they are in Rome. Everyone is having a good trip.
Dad
S, Very hot today, 107, so the boys and I stayed inside all afternoon. It was even too hot to be in the pool! We have been busy following the three of you on the map. Also, we have been playing in the mud making Holland, dikes and the North Sea; then Venice and its' bridges and canals. We checked out a book about Van Gogh at the library and enjoyed looking at his beautiful paintings. Becca called the next day and told me how much she liked Van Gogh's "Starry Night Over the Rhone". She didn't know we were looking at the same paintings. It is supposed to be 100+ for the next few days. I enjoy your blog! The pictures are great. Maybe Dad and I wiil do Eastern Europe this fall. Take care. Love, Mom
